Guidance Laboratory

The laboratory serves as a training ground for theoretical guidance courses, practicum and internship. Facilities include a sound-controlled counseling room, a testing room, guidance records, psychological tests and counseling protocols, printed materials and shelves for an occupational library, and tape recorders for practicum courses in counseling.


Graduate Admission

Graduate Admission

Bachelor degree holders may apply for admission to the master's programs of their choice. Interested parties should accomplish the application form and submit the requirements to the Graduate Studies Office. Doctoral program applicants will have to pass the Doctoral Admissions Test (DATE). These applications will be reviewed by the faculty. Qualified applicants will be notified by mail.

Master of Art (Education)
All new master's students are admitted provisionally until they have satisfied the following requirements:
  • for fulltime students, completion of at least 9 units during the first semester of enrollment with a general weighted average of"2.0" or better.
  • for part-time students, completion of at least 9 units during the first year of enrollment with a general weighted average of "2.0" or better.

Doctor of Philosophy (Education)
Doctoral students are required to take and pass the Doctoral Admission Test in Education (D.A.T.E.) before they are admitted provisionally for a period of one semester course work or its equivalent, after which said credits are evaluated. For formal admission to the doctoral program, a student must have a grade of "2.0" or better for each subject and a general weighted average of "1.75" or better.


Document Requirements

  • Original copies of your Official Transcript of Records (undergraduate and graduate work, if any) plus three (3) photocopies. The University does not accept OTR's with the following notations: FOR EMPLOYMENT PURPOSES, FOR REFERENCE, NOT VALID FOR TRANSFER, INFORMATIVE COPY, FOR STUDENT COPY, etc.
  • Accomplished application forms (2 sets)
    Official receipt of application fee of PhP500.00/US$25.00 (paid to the U.P. Cashier, U.P. Diliman, Quezon City)
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation or references form former professors and/or current employers
  • Five (5) copies of 2"x2" recent picture
  • Original Birth Certificate plus one (1) photocopy
  • Original Marriage Contract plus one (1) photocopy (if female is married)
  • Self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE)
  • Permit to study (if currently employed)
  • Official copy of the results of your Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) examination. (for foreign applicants whose native language or whose medium of instruction is not English).

COMPLETED APPLICATION TO THE GRADUATE PROGRAMS MUST BE SUBMITTED AT LEAST TWO MONTHS BEFORE THE REGULAR ENROLLMENT PERIOD.


Financial Requirements


Tuition: PhP 500 per graduate unit

Miscellaneous: PhP1015.00 (for the regular semesters) PhP615.00 (for the summer term)

Entrance Fee Deposit: PhP 130

Student Fund: PhP 46.50
